Under the hood, the 2015 BMW X4 got the base powertrain which basically same as X3. It combines 8-speed automatic transmission with a 2.0-liter engine (turbocharged) able to 240 horsepower. This is the base version of engine, which is used in xDrive28 model.
If you demand more power, then you should go to xDrive35i model, which got a powerful engine: 3.0-liter capable of producing 300 horsepower. The X4 xDrive35i model can reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, whereas the X4 xDrive28i can reach that speed in 6.0 seconds. There is no further information that can confirm the presence of M version, so all X4s seem to launch in all-wheel drive.
It is interesting that the X4 will eventually come with an ECO PRO mode. Such a mode helps the driver to shut off the car’s gas when the throttle is released. That type of mode also incorporates start/stop.
The suspension on X4 got the same treatment as the X3, means it got an independent suspension. A variety of electronic steering has available as well, as the car can easily sift the mode from sport driving to comfort to green modes.
